León

León is the most northern province of of the region Castilla y León and geographically is one of the most diverse provinces in the whole of Spain with high mountains - covered in snow in Winter - steep cliffs and valleys sheltering lakes and gorges on the one hand, and flat plains watered by Leon's many rivers and streams providing herds with pastures and farmers with land to plant cereal crops on the other. Towards the north-east nearing the border with Galicia, the province of León is characterized by rolling countryside, round mountains covered in forests and picturesque villages.

Gijón

Situated on the shore of the Cantabrian Sea, Gijón offers an attractive combination of seafaring flavour, heritage buildings and modern urban development behind the beach. Its marina bears witness to a history strongly linked to the sea.

Ribadeo

The Ribadeo estuary forms a natural link between Galician territory and the neighbouring lands of Asturias on the opposite bank. On this deep estuary, formed by the river Eo, the main town is Ribadeo. The town's stately appearance can be seen from the nearby summit of mount Santa Cruz, where a popular pilgrimage is held every first Sunday in August and which has been declared to be of tourist interest because it is a celebration of traditional local cuisine and music.

Mondoñedo

Mondoñedo is one of the most evocative capitals of the old Kingdom of Galicia.The Cathedral of San Martiño, a National Monument, preserves the original Romanesque main front with a beautiful rose window and baroque towers. Inside, there is also a juxtaposition of styles, an ogival dome held up by pointed arches, mural paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries, and a baroque high reredos. It also has a stone reredos, the only one in the Romanesque style. It houses the Diocesan Cathedral Museum, one of the most important museums of religious art in Spain.

Santiago de Compostela

Santiago de Compostela is a World Heritage City, pilgrimage destination, cultural capital and example of historical, urban and environmental regeneration, which attracts thousands of visitors due to its singularity. Santiago, the capital of Galicia, is also a centre of institutional services, with a privileged location on the Atlantic Axis.

Bilbao

Bilbao is the heart of a metropolis where more than a million people live. It is the centre of the economic-social development and the main factor of the modernisation of the Bay of Biscay. The great architectural and infrastructure projects have been the driving force of the urban and economic regeneration of the city. The Guggenheim Museum, the Euskalduna Conference and Music Centre, Norman Foster's Underground, Calatrava's airport, the new tram, the projects by the architects Arata Isozaki and César Pelli... are all examples of the dynamism that exists in Bilbao. The city is situated in the area of Bizkaia and is surrounded by a fertile landscape with forests, mountains, beaches and steep coasts. All this makes Bilbao a privileged destination for visitors.

Espinosa de los Monteros

The town of Espinosa de los Monteros is located in the Mountains of Castilla and Leon, in the northernmost part of the province of Burgos, bordering Vizcaya and Cantabria.

The character of this northern town is seen in the green color present in the environment. Here, south of the Cantabrian mountain range, the power of the erosion of small rivers, creeks and streams and glacial cirque de Lunada, has resulted in narrow valleys, which alternate pastures, pine, beech and oak and high rock walls.
